This painting is based on photos taken during a climb of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. This was done August 3, 2021, when I was celebrating my 80th birthday by climbing Half Dome with my friend Matt Hill. We left the trail head at 3:00 AM and were at the top about 10:30AM. This image is what it looks like at the bottom of the 400' long cable run to the top. This is the tough part where you use the cables to help pull yourself up, one wo-by-four board at a time!! They say it is a 45-degree angle, but it looks and feel more like 60 degrees.
