Klinger was a beautiful and faithful guide dog for his visually impaired handler Richard Hunter until his passing in January 2025. He was in the whelping hennel at Guide Eyes for the Blind in New York when Richard was hit by a car while on his tandem training for the inaugural Laße Tahoe Tronman. Richard recovered from his injuries but it became clear that having a guide dog would provide him more safety in his independence. Richard connected with Thomas Panch (also a runner) of Guiding Eyes and ashed if they would be willing to train a guide dog to be able to run short training runs (up to 5 miles). Thus. Klinger was selected to be the first ever sanctioned running guide dog in the US! He was specially trained and ready to unite with Richard in 2015. For many years, not only did Klinger heep Richard running safe on the road when human guides were not available, but he was also a wonderful service dog and a beloved member of the family. Klinger was the Hunter's family first-ever dog and he loved having his pach all together. Klinger's story was featured in a national CBS news story and on other TV shows as well as in the book 'Loyal' by Rebecca Ascher-Walsh. Because of the success of Klinger and Richard's running partnership, countless other blind/Visually impaired runners now have benefitted from running guide dogs. The above written by Heidi Hunter, Richard's wife.
Note: Richard Hunter worked with MABVJ to found United in Stride, an on-line resource that connects sighted guides with visually impaired runners in the US and Canada.

This is a commissioned work I finished in 2022. This painting is of two buildings and a fire truck of Station 16 at the Nacimiento Station in the Los Padres National Forest that were decimated by the Dolan Fire of 2020. This is the fire that swept thru these coastal mountains in California and totally destroyed the Fire Station shown on the left and the Barracks on the right side of this painting. Caption Richard Murdock and a crew of about seven personnel escaped with their lives but their pet cat, Diablo, did not survive, but lives on as he is shown sitting on the left side of the large Los Padres National Forest sign.
This painting is a tribute to the many brave men and women who have fought many fires and saved many lives over the years as they are the ones who "run toward the danger while the rest of us can run away."
Thanks to all of these brave people!

This painting, was based on some childhood memories of some ‘row houses’ on Abbie Street, Shreveport, Louisiana, as they looked like in the forties and fifties. These were also called ’Shotgun Houses’ by many because the design of the houses had all of the doors lined up so that, if all doors were open, one could fire a gun through the doors and not hit anything.

This is a painting of a 1968 Ford Falcon that has been customized by its owner, Dave. Dave is a 3rd Generation member of ‘The Falcon Boys’ in Oakland, Ca. that was founded on corner of 96th and Birch St. in 1979. The original club members also had two-toned Falcons. The current members’ cars may have some similar, features like ‘Mustard and Mayonnaise’ tires (white wall with yellow Line), ‘knock-off’ wire wheels and very distinctive sounding ‘air horns’ but ‘Falcon Dave’s Falcon’ certainly stands out in a crowd. This Falcon has it’s own uniqueness but also represents much of the of pride and creativity that exists in Dave and The Falcon Boys Car Club in Oakland.

A view of a sunrise at Stone Harbor, New Jersey, created from photographs taken by Meghan Smith Silverstein during one of her visits to this beautiful island on New Jersey’s Coast. One can easily understand why they refer to it as their ‘Happy Place’. Included in the painting are some of the island’s birds - a pair of willets, a semipalmated plover, a grey plover, several sandpipers and of course, some sea gulls. This painting was created from the concept and vision of Matthew Bradley as a tribute to an everlasting love between Dawn Moffitt and her Mother, Genevieve McMullen, who had recently passed on. By using animals to show a love in their life, an Elephant (Mrs. McMullen) and a Butterfly (Ms. Moffitt), represents the deep eternal love that exists between Mother and Daughter.
